The new vintages of the Xyauyù range, from the Teo Musso Reserve, are now available.
This is the most anticipated time of year for Baladin barley wine enthusiasts.
These are limited editions of a unique craft beer that involves a long period of fermentation in steel containers and then in drained oak barrels. This method promotes a controlled macro-oxidation process that results in very distinctive and fascinating flavor profiles.
The Baladin barley wines are sofa beers: they should be savored slowly, unhurriedly. The bottles can be stored (even out of the refrigerator) for several months thanks to the controlled oxidation process that ensures that their aromas and flavors are preserved for a long time. Don't be surprised if you don’t see any head or carbonation: this is the natural consequence of this delicate aging method.
Xyauyù 2019, the masterwork at the basis of various aging processes in different types of wooden barrels - and with the addition of spices in the case of the version containing tobacco leaves.
Xyauyù Barrel 2018, aged in barrels previously used for rum.
Xyauyù Fumè 2018, aged in barrels previously used for peated whiskies.
Xyauyù Kentucky 2018, aged in wooden barrels and flavored with Italian tobacco leaves.
Xyauyù Kioke completes the range. It is aged in the Japanese barrel of the same name, but it is not characterized by the year of production.
The Xyauyù range is the joy and pride of master brewer Teo Musso and his entire staff, particularly the team that manages the aging cellar. They work in tight cooperation to define the best blends that bring these unique craft beers to life.
